“It is illegal and totally inappropriate for media or observers to be talking to voters who are still waiting in line to vote.”
Reports came through social media that a Milwaukee television station (TMJ4) interviewed people as they were waiting in line to vote on the evening of the June 5th 2012 recall election in Wisconsin. Furthermore, social media reports stated that the interviewer(s) asked people in line why they were going to vote when the press had already called the race for Scott Walker.
This is a link to a November 2, 2012 advisory for the press from GAB. Media Advisory: Covering Election Day 2012.
*Voters and poll observers should closely watch the press’ behavior at poll places and alert the local poll chief of any violation of the law by the media.
*The press should make themselves aware of Wisconsin law and anticipate that others will closely document their infractions of Wisconsin election law.
I agreed to tweet about theHunger Task Force of Milwaukee tomorrow and I’ll ask you to join me because
1) The Task Force asked me to

4) Every donation tomorrow gets matched by the Greater Milwaukee Foundation
My strategy will be to mention this at lunch because that’s when people get hungry, eat and check twitter. This is the web site: www.DonateToHungerTaskForce.org This is the hashtag: #MatchDayMKE

In Dec. 2011, unemployment in Milwaukee County was officially 7.8%. But in the City of Milwaukee - - the nation’s most segregated city - - there are severe problems with unemployment.
“In 1970, when Milwaukee boasted one of the nation’s densest concentrations of factory jobs, black male employment nearly matched the white level (73.4% vs. 85.9%, for a gap of 12.5 percentage points). By 2010, the black-white gap widened to 32.7 percentage points - the widest among the 40 major cities.” - jsonline
…in Milwaukee, several hundred protesters shook off the cold at Carver Park and then marched to the North Avenue span over I-43 (one of the few bridges being targeted where city workers had been engaged all day in doing repairs). As these protesters chanted and even sat down in the street, dozens of police squads and even Chief Flynn watched without interfering for 90 minutes, a demonstration of control and cool that a lot of New Yorkers must now envy.

Scott Walker will be at the Harley museum.
He’s scheduled to speak sometime after 7pm; probably 7:30 or 7:45.
Unsure of arrival or departure times. He’ll be in an event tent outside of the museum.”

Gallup recently released the results of its cumulative state-by-state polling on political party identification for the first six months of 2011. The polling revealed that 44% of Americans identified as Democrats and 40% identified as Republicans. The chart above profiles the states that most clearly mirrored the national numbers.
According to Craig Gilbert:
If Wisconsin has returned to something like a 50/50 state, that suggests 2012 will be a furious partisan trench war – for president, for Herb Kohl’s vacant US Senate seat and for governor if Democrats try and succeed in forcing a recall election against Walker.
This state is indispensable to a winning electoral majority for President Obama and his party, and it now sits very close to the 50-yard line of American politics.
Wisconsin was almost a perfect microcosm of the country in its partisan makeup: 45% of Wisconsinites called themselves Democrats, 40% called themselves Republicans.
