“It’s awesome that a movement of women supposedly hating men is complete and irrefutable proof that [women are] wrong, but all the woman-hating men are Great Men and great artists and cool, admired role models, like rappers or rock stars or all of those philosophers who thought women were inferior. Imaginary man-hating is condemned and yet real woman-hating is celebrated. Why shouldn’t I hate men? Clearly they hate me and that impacts my life daily.”

I want this remembered every time feminists feel the need to apologize for the movement because some members of it have been accused of man-hating. I will not consider it a legitimate criticism until this culture has been purged of its need to glorify men who hate women - indeed, until they’re no longer elected to legislative positions.

Too many confirmed and TBA global Slutwalks to count. Feminism is officially alive and kicking butt.
ONE MILLION PISSED OFF WOMEN GO TO D.C.!! Okay ladies and gentlemen, IT’S ON! To show our elected officials in DC that we are DONE being thrown under the bus, it’s time for One Million Pissed Off Women to get ON the bus! That’s right, we have a date chosen and a plan made. August 1 – 2: Bus #1 – OMPOW Founders and Friends Bus departs from Boise, Idaho. Buses #2, #3 and beyond begin departing from other locations August 3: Buses arrive in DC . Rest, relax, relate, have fun August 4: 10:00 ?? - Rally outside the Capitol. Time to get our rally on! August 4: Afternoon – Legislation Visitation Time August 5: OMPOW Free Day – Visit the DC and all it has to offer. We MAY be using the buses to do some bus tours, if that works out and we have enough interest. I’d like to see where the rape kit capitols of the U.S. are.
And where their polar opposites are.[Referencing this Cleveland story]
Assuming you get those data points - where we have kit piles - and then map them in GIS so I can find this shit out while Im house shopping, we might hear: ”Gee, I was going to move to Suburbanville, but I checked it out on the web and found out it’s one of the “Rape Kit Capitols” No way in hell!” Nice cross-pollination for Women Studies and GIS. The police are never going to do anything about this on their own.
